Tuition
Tuition for the 2012 COSMOS Program is $2,810. The actual cost of the program is $6,500, but is subsidized by the California State Legislature. Out-of-state students must pay the unsubsidized fee of $6,500. Tuition includes room and board, classroom materials, academic and weekend field trips, and transportation while on campus. Transportation to and from the program are not covered by tuition or Financial Assistance. There is a $30 non-refundable program application fee which must be submitted with your application materials by the March 1 deadline. NO APPLICATION FEE WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AT THE DAVIS CAMPUS.
Financial Assistance
Full and partial financial assistance may be available. In 2011, approximately 23% of the UC Davis Cosmos students who attended the program received financial assistance.
How to Apply for Financial Assistance
Financial assistance forms must be downloaded from the COSMOS Statewide website and included with your application materials (available February 1st). You must submit a statement explaining your need, the completed Financial Assistance application, and one of the following: 1) a letter verifying your eligibility for free/reduced lunch or TANF benefits for the 2011-12 academic year, or 2) your family's 2011 Federal tax return. These materials must be received with your other application materials by the application deadline. Please mask your family member's social security numbers.
